Meg Tapia is a distinguished Australian national security expert with over two decades of experience across government, defence, and the private sector. She is the Managing Director of Novexus, a boutique national security advisory firm, an Expert Associate at the ANU National Security College, and a Non-Resident Fellow at the Princeton University Irregular Warfare Initiative. Her career includes 16 years as an Australian diplomat with postings in Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and Afghanistan.
Meg’s expertise spans intelligence capability, information integrity, and disinformation threats. She has advised senior government officials and private entities on strengthening the information environment and enhancing diversity in national security and intelligence capability. As an Army Reservist, she focuses on creating information advantage for Defence.
Meg has been awarded the Australian Operational Service Medal and the NATO Medal. Tapia is also a Brookes Scholar and serves on the Board of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers. She co-founded The Paragon Alliance, a networking initiative for women in Australia's national security and cyber communities. Meg has co-hosted the ANU NSC Women in National Security podcast and speaks widely at conferences on national security threats, particularly disinformation. She holds an MBA (Leadership), a Master of Policy Studies (International), a BA in Politics and Sociology and is a certified MSP practitioner.
