Tony Keane

Tony is the Head of Integrity, Security and Business Resilience at the Australian Football League, Australia’s largest sporting code. Tony’s responsibility extends across the AFL industry including AFL, AFLW, VFL and Talent League competitions incorporating over 1000 games annually, held in over 40+ stadiums nationally along with over 400 AFL events annually.

Within his role, Tony is also responsible for the Security and Business Resilience Operations at the AFL owned Marvel Stadium, encompassing entertainment events such as AFL, Big Bash League Cricket, Rugby, Soccer, UFC and World Supercross events, along with year-round international concerts and major international sporting events.

Tony is the Deputy Chair of the Forum of Australasian Security Executives (FASE), a board member at the Australian Security Medals Foundation (ASMF), Chair of the ASMF Nominations Committee, member of the National Business Advisory Group (BAG) a sub-committee of the Australian and New Zealand Counter Terrorism Committee, member of the Asia Crisis Security Group (ACSG), member of the  Coalition of Major Professional Participation Sports (COMPPS) representing the AFL across Sports Integrity and Security and a judge for the Outstanding Security Performance Awards (Australia and New Zealand).

Tony has travelled extensively internationally researching Counter Terrorism mitigations, Security, Risk and Emergency Management operations in the United States, Switzerland, Poland and the United Kingdom. 

Tony has worked at the AFL for the past 12 years and prior to that spent 14 years with Victoria Police working primarily in the Homicide Squad and various criminal investigation units.
