Tom Rogers AO has spent a distinguished career leading under pressure—whether in the military, police leadership, or national electoral delivery. As Australia’s Electoral Commissioner, he oversaw workforces of more than 100,000 people and led the delivery of high-stakes, zero-fail national events. Under his leadership, the Australian Electoral Commission became the most trusted federal agency in the country and achieved the highest levels of public satisfaction across government.
A graduate of the Royal Military College, Duntroon, and former UN mission commander on the Golan Heights, Tom later served as Director of Programs and then Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Police Management. In that role, he contributed to global policing strategy as a member of INTERPOL’s Group of Experts on Police Training.
Tom has attended and presented on the FBI’s Leadership in Counter Terrorism and National Executive Institute programs and was a visiting scholar at the FBI Academy—experiences that underscore his deep engagement with international leadership networks.
He brings a rare combination of strategic insight, operational credibility, and a deep understanding of trust in complex systems. Today, Tom serves on advisory boards for global democracy organisations in Stockholm and London, and is a Distinguished Advisor to ANU’s National Security College.
