Paul Maddison

Paul Maddison is the Australia & NZ Country Manager at Strider Technologies Australia Pty, where he is responsible for leading Strider’s market expansion and strategic partnerships with ANZ universities, corporations, and governments.

Prior to joining Strider in 2024, Paul worked at the University of New South Wales in Sydney and Canberra as inaugural Director of the UNSW Defence Research Institute. This was preceded by a four-year appointment in 2015 as Canada’s High Commissioner for Australia, with accreditation as non-resident Ambassador to seven Pacific Island Countries.

Paul's work in Australia was preceded by over 30 years in Canadian naval service. As a surface warfare officer, Paul commanded at all levels, culminating in his 2011 appointment as Commander of the Royal Canadian Navy at the rank of Vice Admiral.

A 1980 graduate of Canada’s Royal Military College in St. Jean Québec, and a naturalised Australian since 2020, Paul is from Canada but has chosen with his family to make Australia their home. It's only fitting, as Paul's wife Fay grew up in Darwin NT, and was the strength behind his Canadian uniform for over 25 years.
