John Kilburn
John Kilburn is the Regional Industry Leader for Law Enforcement and Public Safety across Asia Pacific at SAS. In this role, he provides strategic industry leadership across ANZ, ASEAN, North Asia, India, and previously META, guiding the positioning and growth of SAS solutions within policing, national security, integrity agencies, corrections and border environments. He works closely with agencies to enhance their Intelligence capabilities in line with real world operational challenges.
Prior to joining SAS, John spent several years as a senior commercial leader within the digital intelligence and investigation management sector, and previously spent 27 years in law enforcement, retiring as a Detective Senior Sergeant with the Queensland Police Service. His policing career included extensive criminal investigations and specialist roles in security intelligence and counter terrorism. He has led and delivered national operational training in Countering Violent Extremism, Terrorism Tactics, and worked operationally across multi-agency taskforces and Five Eyes aligned environments.
This blend of operational policing experience and commercial technology leadership enables John to provide unique insights to the intelligence environment. He is regularly engaged to advise agency leaders on intelligence led policing, digital transformation, ethical AI and the integration of analytics into frontline investigative workflows. At SAS he serves as the domain voice for Law Enforcement and Public Safety globally, ensuring deployed strategies are tightly aligned to agency realities and measurable public safety outcomes.
John is recognised for disciplined strategy execution, a collaborative approach, and the ability to translate complex analytical capability into clear operational value for high consequence government environments.
